Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Millfield School for a Recruitment Consultant to join our HR team on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave.


Millfield is one of the leading UK independent schools for boys and girls, aged 2-18 years. Millfield is not like other schools and never has been. Founded in 1935, Millfield’s vision is to be the world leader for the development of children. There are nearly 1300 students at the senior school (year 9 to U6) and a further 450 students at the neighbouring Prep School. Millfield’s size brings great opportunity, and the facilities are unmatched in the UK. With so much going on at Millfield it is unsurprising that we have a large staffing body to match. Between teachers, sports coaches, and support staff we have a staffing body of over 900 staff.


In this role you will be instrumental in recruiting new employees to Millfield. Key duties will include (but are not limited to):

Drafting engaging advert wording.
Working collaboratively with line managers on vacancies.
Assisting line managers with interviews and upskilling on interview technique.
Onboarding new employees in line with Safer Recruitment legislation.

The successful individual will be exceptionally well organised, have great interpersonal skills, with the ability to think decisively and act proactively and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Experience within a school setting is also advantageous, however not essential.


This is a part time, one-year fixed term position from March 2023 working 21 hours per week for 52 weeks of the year (we can offer flexibility as to which days these hours will be worked).


In return you will receive a salary of £13,802.88-£15,004.08 per annum (FTE £23,000-£25,000, dependent on experience), generous holiday entitlement, freshly prepared lunches for just £10 per month, access to the school facilities and discounts/cashback on high street shops and restaurants through the school’s Employee Assistance Programme.
